Even the scratches sound better
by Rico
I upgraded the power tubes in my primaluna dialogue 6 monoblocs wanted to stay with el34 just plugged these in an hour ago and I notice a positive change. I already put JJ gold pin 12au7’s in my prologue 3 pre and JJ golds in the driver and follower of the amps. Northern Electric 12AX7 in the Jolida phono stage. Good improvement at each change. Great service! I live in Hamilton!
Excellent Sounding EL34
by Chad -
Excellent sounding tubes. in a 1987 clone with some switchable gain mods I made, it really opened up the sound vs the Mullards I first put in. They sounded OK, but didn't really have any "character" imo. With these you get more punch and treble, but it's not harsh treble at all. The marshall "karrang" is there in spades, but it doesn't rip your head off. It's very 3D feeling now. The Mullards I ordered from a different vendor as a "matched set". One tube biased at 38ma and the other 33.5 .......... The Tung-Sol's right at 38.9 and 39ma at 475 plate volts, how much closer can you get! The shipping was super fast and I will for sure be buying tubes from The tube store from now on.
Great Tubes

I have the primaluna evo 400. The stock tubes are great. So we make decisions of what tubes to buy. I decided on the these and a couple of preamp tubes to experiment. I have to say they are great out of the box and I think they will develop after some time. A bit thinner in size. I wanted a tad more deep end. Then I go back to the reason I go back to why I bought the amp, That EL34 midrange. I can comment, that they seem to run cooler and much less heat on the transformers. Head to head. That has to be beneficial. Wonderful tube at a fair price. The tube store is great, my second purchase, fast shipping and great service. I will stick to the el34 range, because if I wanted solid state sound I use those.
