Our Preferred Series 7189 starts life as a NOS (New Old Stock) Russian 6P14P-EV as translated from Cyrillic. It is a military build that meets or exceeds the 7189 specifications

We have been selling this particular tube for years but have found the production from the 1980’s to sound and work the best. We sought out and purchased as much NOS as we can find from this time period. They are then burned in, tested and matched on our digital high voltage equipment to make sure the tubes selected for you will provide outstanding tone and performance. The Preferred Series 7189 tubes carry a 6 month extended warranty.

Warranty Information and Return Policy
Warranty Period: 6 monthsPreferred Series tubes have a 6 month warranty from date of purchase. (Any exceptions will be noted on that tube's Warranty tab)
If you receive a tube that does not perform to the manufacturer's specifications, please do the following:
- contact us to get a return authorization
- return it via regular mail within 180 days from when we shipped it, and we will provide an exchange or refund of the full purchase price of the tube.
Returns not related to warranty or defect will be considered at our discretion, and are subject to a 15% restocking fee.
We can not accept returns that don't have an authorization, are past 6 months, or are returned improperly.

Big improvement on my Decware SE84UFO

I swapped the Valve Art 274B rectifier with a NOS SED Winged-C 5U4G, swapped the 6N1P with a Russian 6N2P, swapped the SV83 tubes with thetubestorePreferred Series 7189 tubes - now the amp sounds 1000% better to me. I was a little disappointed with the DecWare SE84UFO sound out of the box, but now after tube rolling it sounds natural and detailed to me.

I just changed the tubes in my Vox AC30 Heritage 2010 mod...I had JJ`s there....they where good...but these "7189" is outstanding...wow ..what a sound from my strat in the blue alnicos...you just got to hear it before you believe it !!! I will give them 6 stars !!! Thanks to thetubestore !!!

I replaced 2 JJs in Blues Junior and got just what I was looking for. A little darker sound and smooth tone.
JJs are pretty good tubes too, but I mostly play clean jazz and JJs had a more rough edges. Probably better for rock and maybe blues. I have Ibanez with PAF pickups and love my sound now. My Blues Jr is stock except I have a Cannabis Rex speaker.
Although I only play clean, I cranked it up just to see what happens. WOW! So smooth, with lots of sustain and warm!

Rocks my Vox

Just got a quad today for my Vox AC30 and I couldn't be happier with the sound. Have a set in an old, green board Blues Jr I did most of the BillM mods to and they're great in it as well. It's hard to find musically superb EL84's that can also take the abuse of an AC30. The burn-in, then matching thetubestore does on these hard to find, premium military-grade Reflector 6P14P-EV 's is what sold me. Well worth the cost.
7189 tubes with 274B

I changed from SV83's and 5U4G's to the Preferred Series 7189's and Preferred Series 274B's in my amp with great results. I was leary at first about the 274B since there isn't a data sheet and the only one I could find was the old western electric. I Emailed Jon and he assured me they would work fine, Well he was right. This combo has expanded my sound stage with great intensity at the edges and has the sound moving down my walls. The vectoring is beyond what I was expecting. Job well done Jon!
