Preferred Series 7025 / 12AX7
This 7025 is a high quality and very rugged custom 12AX7 tube produced for us in China by the Shuguang factory. The plates are manufactured out of a premium metal imported from Germany and supported with extra thick mica spacers to insure against microphonics. They are burned in and tested at the factory and then again on our digital high voltage equipment to make sure the tubes selected for you will provide outstanding tone and performance.
From our review: "A great sounding 12AX7 tube type that reminds me a little more of the ECC83 that Ei made in the old days. That's a pretty nice compliment. I compared this tube against an old Ei and Telefunken smooth plate and there was very little difference. Lots of gain with a rather low noise floor. No microphonics issues at all. Very good considering the large plate size. Spot welding may be better for microphonics than crimped plates. I tried it in all the standard guitar amp duties and it was fine. Fabulous in Blackface Fender amps. We tried this 7025 in a 66 Vibrolux reverb 2x10 combo and the tones were all there. Light and shimmering or really aggressive, it's all good."
Warranty: The Preferred Series 7025 tubes carry a 6 month extended warranty.

The 7025 Preferred Series
by Anderson Johnson
I have been buying tubes from the Tube Store for a bunch of years. Great service and everything but I change my tubes once a year as I begin a new recording / playing cycle and most of the time I just buy the cheapest tubes they got. I didn't think it made that much of a difference. So since I had a little extra cash this month I went a head and bought these Preferred Series 7025 tubes for my 1977 50 watt Marshall JMP MKII. Wow! I decided to see if it was worth the money so I recorded a pass with the old tubes (a set of JJ ECC83S) about 1 year old along with the 1 year old Tung-Sol 6550's that are still in there and then another pass with the 7025. I was stunned to here the difference. The high end is much more crisp and defined plus the bottom is much tighter which may be due to the better defined lower mid range, but either way a much more detailed and rich tone. I hope this helps those who are like me that think it doesn't matter that much, it does for me. Thanks Tube Store!
I am a home studio owner that have nice vintech mic pres to audient to black lion audio, but i didn't own a tube mic pre. I looked for a long time and found the art mpa pro 2 tube mic pre, it is amazing what you can get out of this pre for its price range but one thing you realize very quickly is that the tube in it is not up to par.
So i put new mullurd tubes in it the sound improved drastically but what I noticed was the dynamic range gave out very quickly there was a certain distortion not in a good way that happened when you got to the end of its range.
So I called the people at thetubestore.com and spoke with someone and they said to try the Preferred Series 7025. Well let me tell you these tubes took that mic pre to a whole other level, the dynamic range is unbelievable, the high end is silk smooth the midrange has clarity and the low end on the bass is tight and strong. This is so far my tube of choice thank you so much for great service and great recommendations!!!

Wow, big upgrade from the JJ's
I received the Preferred Series 7025 this morning for my Mesa Boogie Mark V. Thanks! Wow, big upgrade from the JJ's. I really love these tubes!
GREAT Preamp Tubes!
I put a matched set of 6 of these in my Custom Audio Amplifiers OD 100 SE + (Suhr Made). This is a boutique 100 Watt Hi Gain head. The stock tubes sounded good but these tubes make this amp sounds BALLZ OUT AMAZING. Great overdrive and hi gain tones. Very even and non-harsh distortion sounds across the spectrum. Cleans are very nice and warm too.
These tubes are a bit pricey but definitely worth every penny.
