Preferred Series EL34 Power Vacuum Tube (Matched)
This Preferred Series EL34 vacuum tube is a premium high quality tube. We found the best of current production, sourced it to our specifications and gave it a 6 month extended warranty.
The Preferred Series EL34 construction features:
- Grey plate and single "disc" style getter
- Gold grid wires
- Copper grid posts
- A carbonized filament for more efficient thermal radiation
- Low noise filament
- The bottle is made with a heavy gauge glass
- And finally the blue color base is a nice touch too!
From our review: The bottom end is amazing and the tube has tons of gain before it gets dirty. The real strength of this tube is the bass and midrange. Bass notes are rock solid and the mids are very rich and complex. The high end is very good but not bright. This tube really wants to be in your JCM 800 or other amp that can generate piercing top end."

"The Preferred Series EL34's have an incredibly tight bass response, unparalleled clarity, and are very rich in harmonics. They are perfect for what I need out of my Diezel VH4 guitar amp. In combination with the Preferred Series 12AX7's, these tubes have brought my Diezel VH4 back to it's former glory. Many thanks to thetubestore.com!"

Preferred Series EL34 | Nice. Really nice.
by Larry K -
I read through most of the reviews here before I ordered a matched quartet of PS-EL34s (and a complete set of 12AX7's) for my JVM410H. I kept seeing the word "tight" mentioned and that's exactly the word that popped into my mind after I installed and biased the tubes (60mv for each pair). Tight, controlled low end and creamy highs. I liked these tubes right off the bat. I assume there will be a little bit of settling in over the next week or so but if they only get better from here, I'm giddy with delite. lol I'll do a some recording and see how the sound sits in the mix. Quick delivery. Well packaged. I like the website too.
Preferred Series EL34 | Awesome

Awesome tube. I build JCM 800 clones. These PS-EL34 tubes add a nice tight bottom end and have killer mids. I also use the 12AX7 preferred series. Great tubes.
Preferred Series EL34 | MADE FOR A JCM800
by Mike -
I build JCM 800 kits. I finally jumped at these PS-EL34 and man.... Nice tightness and smooth top end. I sometimes have customers want 6550s that are more expensive. With these the bass is there and a really nice midrange grind. I'm hooked on these. The preferred serious pre amp tubes are great as well.
Preferred Series EL34 | Expensive experiment in Mesa Boogie
by KW
The first set I received sounded good for around 30 seconds before smoke billowed out of my Mesa Boogie. Around a week later my guitar amp tech told me both PS-EL34 tubes tested out OK on his tester, but under full plate voltage one of the tubes shorts out. He also said the same tube was very touch sensitive where he could make it short out in the tester by tapping it. Anyway my tech told me the tube smoked a power tube screen resistor and melted the insulation of a couple of wires. Told my story to the tube store and they sent out a new set free of charge but didn't offer to pay the $160 bill from my amp tech. The tech did put in a new set of Mesa EL34s for an additional $61.00. Figured I would keep the warranty replacement Preferred Series EL34 set as spares. I did however decide to test them out and they played good but preferred the Mesa set.
