Preferred Series 274B / 5U4G
This tube is produced for us in China by the Shuguang factory. A new evacuator is utilized for a much longer time period increasing vacuum over 100 times more than their current 5U4G tube. A new cathode coating process provides a much smoother finish improving electron flow and they are burned in at high voltages for a much longer time for improved stability. The end result of utilizing these new production materials, techniques, and equipment is a premium rectifier tube at a much lower cost than the NOS Western Electric 274B.
As a Preferred Series tube these are further tested on our digital high voltage equipment to make sure the tubes selected for you will provide outstanding tone and performance.
Warranty: The Preferred Series 274B tubes carry a 6 month extended warranty.

Very Pleased

I use this rectifier tube in a home built 5E3-style amp and the sound great. The 274B is significantly less spongy than the standard 5Y3GT that is usually found in that circuit. The 274B adds headroom, clean(-ish) tones and volume.
I would recommend this experiment with 6V6's that can take punishment. I've tested with EHX, TAD, Tung-Sol and Mullard (even though the Tung-Sols and Mullards are not known for being particularly rugged). Right now I'm switching between Tung-Sols and Mullards.
GREAT SOUNDING!

Great Tube used in my custom hi fi amp and pre. They look great and are very large.
Has air and 3d sound that I do not get from a 5u4g tube either NOS or new production. Best sounding tube for the money IMO. Have used a few of these for 6 months or so and are holding up well.
