The BEST, Jerry, the BEST!
by far the best sounding 12AU7 ever made and I've tried them all.
So glad to see the tube store has these at such a reasonable price!

I tried the RFT tubes for curiosity and found them to be a smooth, very rich tonally. I'd consider them similar to some NOS Mullard tubes that I have. Overall, I like this tubes lack of annoying anomalies in their sound signature.
A sleeper good tube

I've been remiss letting so much time pass before writing this review. Several years ago I purchased a pair of these RFTs from the TubeStore. However, for some long forgotten reason I never used them. Till now. During the pandemic I used the shutdown to set up a new listening system in my great room. I purchased the very reasonably priced Rogue Audio Sphinx v3, which uses a pair of 12AU7s in the preamp section. The stock tubes are ok but were limiting the true potential of this wonderful sounding integrated. So, I began rolling in pairs of 12AU7's from my rather substantial stash of NS and NOS tubes. I stopped rolling after the RFTs were installed. Very smooth and balanced sound from top to bottom, very open sounding with space between instruments and gobs of natural tonality and layering. There's an obvious synergy between the Sphinx and these tubes. Nothing is missing in the sonic presentation. For Rogue owners I urge you to give them a try.
