Preferred Series 7025 / 12AX7 Preamp Vacuum Tube
This 7025 is a high quality and very rugged custom 12AX7 tube produced for us in China by the Shuguang factory. The plates are manufactured out of a premium metal imported from Germany and supported with extra thick mica spacers to insure against microphonics. They are burned in and tested at the factory and then again on our digital high voltage equipment to make sure the tubes selected for you will provide outstanding tone and performance.
From our review: "A great sounding 12AX7 tube type that reminds me a little more of the ECC83 that Ei made in the old days. That's a pretty nice compliment. I compared this tube against an old Ei and Telefunken smooth plate and there was very little difference. Lots of gain with a rather low noise floor. No microphonics issues at all. Very good considering the large plate size. Spot welding may be better for microphonics than crimped plates. I tried it in all the standard guitar amp duties and it was fine. Fabulous in Blackface Fender amps. We tried this 7025 in a 66 Vibrolux reverb 2x10 combo and the tones were all there. Light and shimmering or really aggressive, it's all good."
Warranty: The Preferred Series 7025 tubes carry a 6 month extended warranty.

Super good
by Marielle
I wanted my Engl Screamer 50 combo to sound a lot more warm and suited for blues. I first put four of these Preferred Series 7025 in replacement of the three 12AX7 Sovtek and one 12AX7 China Groove Tube that were in. Swapping the tubes made a world of difference. It went from dull and cold as hell to sunny and warm paradise. Then I changed the two Sovtek 5881WXT for two paired SED 6L6GC and after biasing it now sounds like the amp I always wanted for bluesy and crunchy sounds. I highly recommend!
Great Tubes

Replace 4 really old 7025 out of my 70's Traynor YGM3. Brighter and really great gain. Amp is killer with these little tone monsters. Nice clarity through the whole range. Highly recommend.
Night and Day

Got this tube awhile back and been swapping around with a few different ones to find the tone I like. I run a Tung-Sol 12AX7 in v1, the Preferred Series in v2, and Sovtek 12AX7LPS in v3 in a Peavey Valveking 212. Man with my active emgs the clear resonance and sustain are amazing. I had a JJ ECC83S in v2 and was muddy and very harsh sounding. The difference was night and day. The Preferred series is bright, natural, and clear as a bell. Buy this tube... love this tube.
Pleasantly Surprised!

I've a Sansui AU-111 audio amp, a real legend. I was looking for some new tubes to waken the front end up a bit - current selection was a mix-match of brands. I decided to give these a whirl. Its been one day and I'd like to say well done. At this point, resolution and detail improved. Things settled in - in terms of a better soundstage. All and all, the amp sounds right. If the reliability is up there, I am a fan! I've also bought the 6L6's...have not installed them yet, looking forward to it!
5 Star in a Vox AC30
by Morgan
You can drive yourself crazy (and spend a lot of $) tone chasing. Fun, but sometimes not worth it. Trying out these Preferred Series 7025s was worth it. I run single coil pickups into a medium distorted Vox and these tubes compress nicely and give me punch and clarity without harshness. They have less gain than JJs or Sovteks or Tung-Sols but the AC30 runs hot and bright so a little less is good. Probably not so good for humbuckers or active pickups into high gain amps.
