JJ 6550 | Low price doesn't mean low quality
by J.R.
I've been running these JJ-6550 in my SEUL power amp for over a year. I run them hard at 80 ma of current and 380 plate volts. They have been excellent. Very low noise and able to reproduce the full range of my hi-fi amp. Low price doesn't mean low quality.
JJ 6550 | Totally happy with these tubes.

Blew a tube on my Marshall Slash AFD 100. They were 10 years old and original so I swapped all 4 out for these JJ-6550 tubes. Don't know what the original tubes were as they had the Marshall label on them but they looked pretty fancy, not cheap at all. I have to say I am totally satisfied with the JJ tubes. I think the amp sounds better. Crisp and lots of detail, better than before. I don't think you ever get quantum differences, it's subtle. Don't think you could go wrong with these.
We'll balance and loud.

These brought my Marshall Mk II 50 watt Lead back to life! I tried EL34 tubes for about 10 years but they always sounded congested. Not anymore! My tube spring retainers even fit again.I did modify the preamp to Atomic Soldano specs before the switch. But now the tone controls are so responsive that I can go from clean to crunch with just the twist of my guitar volume. Not possible with EL34's. These are damn impressive sounding for the $.
