Winged "C" (SED) EL34
Production of the SED Winged “C” tubes has come to an end. We have purchased as much stock as available from them that was not factory seconds. We were offered factory seconds at a lower cost however we declined. We do know these factory seconds have entered the marketplace.
From our review of this EL34 tube: "If you want one EL34 tube that will do anything the Winged "C"/SED is money well spent. There is ample bass response but it is firm and controlled. The mids are smooth and the top end shimmers. Nice swirling harmonic content. The construction of the tube is outstanding and I feel it contributes to the overall performance. Lots of clean headroom from this tube with a smooth transition into breakup."

Have been using Wing C's in my Marshall amps for years.... Simply Outstanding!
As good as it gets.

I have been using Wing-C EL34’s in my Marshall amps for 12 years now, and have nothing but the highest regard for them. Great tone, detail and quality. Once gone, they’ll be sorely missed...
Great open and transparent audio tube

Wanted to upgrade from stock el34s in my primaluna EVO400 which never quite lived up to the reviews of the amp. Based on reviews choice between gold lions and the SEDs. Chose the latter due to production stop. Rolled them in to amp and started listening. Have to say took a significant time for burn-in - probably between 50 and a 100 hours with progressive improvements. Once there I have loved them. Slight decrease in bass from stock tubes but the rest is open and very transparent with great crystal clear highs. Mid- particularly voice had been laid back - now up front where it belongs with sound stage open and clear as good tube set up should be. Have had one failure after about 9 months (EVO takes 8). Price has gone up so would need to thing carefully about a full new set, but these are a great tube set if you like open and transparent - not for those who want warm. Usually use in Pentode - find they get a bit more flat in triode mode and lose sound stage.
