From our review: "They sound very punchy and have lots of gain. The sound was more articulate than anything from Sovtek, EH or Mullard EL84 power tubes and was very similar to the Preferred Series 7189 tubes. Very low noise floor and no mechanical noise. Great crunch is easily achieved with a humbucker equipped guitar, while the sparkle shines through with single coils. When pushed into clipping these tubes just give off amazing harmonics and allow you to access some great, controlled feedback. I’m sold!"
The original Tung-Sol EL84/6BQ5 was a popular OEM power tube for American-made EL84/6BQ5 guitar amplifiers, such as those built by Gibson and Harmony. The manufacturer states that due to its rugged construction and conservative ratings, the reissue Tungsol EL84 vacuum tube is the most reliable current production EL84 tube available for use in Vox AC30 tube amps. Also, it is an ideal replacement for EL84 hi-fi tube audio amplifiers, such as those built by Fisher, Scott, and Harmon-Kardon.
Note: These tubes have a slightly larger diameter than other EL84 tubes so they can not be installed into some '90's era Marshall DSL201 or DSL401 amplifiers, some '90's era reissue Vox AC15 amps, and Bad Cat amps.

Warranty Period: 3 monthsAll our tubes are guaranteed for 3 months from the date of purchase. (Any exceptions will be noted on that tube's Warranty tab)
If you receive a tube that does not perform to the manufacturer's specifications, please do the following:
- contact us to get a return authorization
- return it via regular mail within 90 days from when we shipped it, and we will provide an exchange or refund of the full purchase price of the tube.
Returns not related to warranty or defect will be considered at our discretion, and are subject to a 15% restocking fee.
We can not accept returns that don't have an authorization, are past 3 month, or are returned improperly.

Very pleased

I've been through so many different EL84s is the various Vox type amps I've owned, and none have survived for long. Could this finally be the magic ticket? I had finally resorted to suffering with Sovteks in my AC15HW1X because everything else eventually starts rattling in this abusive combo. Then I found the Tung-Sols, which I'm going to assume are just as rugged because they look IDENTICAL to the Sovteks, but they sound better. I don't know how, but they do. Only time will tell if they last.
EL84 Goodness

The Tung-Sol EL84 tube made a huge improvement replacing OEM tubes in 2 of my amps. Swapped out the Shuguang EL84's in my Vox AC30CC and a single JJ in a Marshall Class 5.
Both greatly improved clarity and overall tone.
The Vox now has a better chime, the highs sing and can be pushed into thick overdrive just from pick attack. These tubes are dead quiet after rounds of testing in the Vox AC30 torture chamber.
The Class 5 Marshall combo now sounds like it has a 12" speaker dipping lower than the JJ and making the amp sound like it can breathe again. This is a great and inexpensive upgrade for this amp.
In my opinion, this is the best EL84 replacement tube for current production amps.
