Tung-Sol EL34B Power Vacuum Tube (Matched)
From our review, "When driven into distortion it starts off a bit crunchy like a 6L6 but as you push it, the sound blooms into that singing EL34 vacuum tube tone with great sustain and modest compression." From the manufacturer: "The Tungsol EL34-B is a higher impedance EL34 tube design with increased touch responsiveness and a unique clipping characteristic with a hint of the 6L6 sound."
The Tung-Sol name and trademark have been acquired by the New Sensor Corporation. This new production Tungsol tube is manufactured at their Xpo-Pul factory (also known as Reflektor) in Saratov, Russia. New Sensor is an American corporation and since taking ownership of this factory has been steadily improving the quality of current production tubes.

Great sound but....
by Gab
These sound great on my Mark V, but there's something about them that bothers my hearing really quick. Even at low volumes. Don't know if its harmonics or what, but I just can't use them long. It's sad because they do sound amazing.
Quality tube

These are a great tube in every way, but a bit bass heavy for me. I find them a bit rough at mid gain/crunch, but role off to a great high gain tone. Cleans are musical and very low noise. Very nice in a Vox Night Train 50 watt guitar amp. The heavy bass can be good or bad. I'd recommend a good solid cab to handle the bass these put out. Not for a boomy cab unless you plan to re-enforce it to tighten it up. My friends like them for their 7 string guitars. Not really for me. I prefer a tighter less pronounced bass tone.
The EL34 for me!
by Jeremy W.
I put a quad of these EL34B's into my Rivera KR100 (Knucklehead Reverb) as a replacement for the Valve Arts I had in there previously. When I originally purchased this amp it was stock with the Winged C's which were amazing. Sadly pricing is out of my range for them now and the Valve Arts I got from Rivera were not very favorable. I was turned onto Tung-Sols by my good friend and am extremely happy with them. Great bottom end and the mids are fantastic. Definitely THE tube for me now.

Authentic EL-34 Sound..
by Paul Roy
I've tried *most* current production tubes in my Marshall amps over the years. This particular tube sounds a lot like a set of original Tesla EL34 tubes I once had from the 1980s. For me this is the EL34 sound...the one I grew up listening to. They just need time to break in! At first the bottom is sort of hollow, but soon (like 24 hours or so) they become very tight with great balance and power, and a WONDERFUL midrange - very complex and detailed. Great fidelity too. If you like NOS power tubes, but not the prices, get this tube! I love em'!
