The TAD 6L6GC-STRs are top-notch. Plenty of clean headroom plus low-end punch. Perfect for Fender Twins where you want that historic clean with some added robustness.

The Doctor is in!

"They have powerful deep bass and a clear, airy top end."

The description says it all well enough. The bass is tight and when cranked up in a 100 watt amp it will give you a new perception of how much bass you like. I mean, now love!

I had no clue what I was missing???

Not a good fit for this rig

Had some pretty high hopes for these based on the reviews but just not a good fit for my rig (80s era Dean Markley CD60). Waaaaaaaaay too much low end - made my scumback sound like a bass rig.Had some nice redeeming punchy qualities but just bottom ended the amp.Going to give the Svetlanas a shot

Update on my last

To update my previous post in the interest of fairness I think the fault lies in this amp and not the tubes.

Both these and the Svetlanas (which also are not a good fit for this amp but are great tubes over all) are probably good solid performers in a standard range amp. The CD30 just seems to run really low in terms of tone - hence the reason they are outfitted with a pretty high range eminence.

Just wanted to balance things out a bit on my review.

Wake up that sleeping amp!

First off, I must say the service from thetubestore.com was amazing. From the time I ordered them online to the time they arrived at my doorstep was less than 24hrs later!
I really didn't know what to expect when replacing these tubes in my Traynor YCV40WR. I had replaced power tubes before, but only found slight tonal differences. Well let me tell you that it was a night and day difference! Louder! Cleaner cleans and tighter/ crunchier OD channel. Quality tubes at a great price hands down!
