From our review: "I find the Svetlana 12AX7 preamp tube to sound a bit smoother than the 12AX7EH and it has less gain than the Tungsol 12AX7 vacuum tube. If you are not inspired by the Electro Harmonix and also find the Tungsol too grainy then this is the 12AX7 tube you want to give a chance. It has everything you want in a good pre-amp. Low noise, no microphonics issues, and very clear and open without being too bright."

This new production tube is manufactured at the New Sensor Corp. owned Xpo-Pul factory (also known as Reflektor) in Saratov, Russia. Use it to replace all other 12AX7, ECC83, and 7025 tube types. Solid construction and build quality and all test great on our equipment.

Not to be confused with the older Winged "C" version, this one is of far better quality.

One other note about the construction of these tubes is they have filaments that are almost completely encased in the plate structure. They don't "light up" brightly when working properly.

A real gem

I've had my TH30 since they came out and have used Tung Sols almost the whole time, but there was always a harsh, unforgiving nature to the high end.
I put a couple of Svetlanas in it on a whim and was immediately gobsmacked. Gone is the harshness. Still tons of gain, but with a new warmth to it. The clean channel sounds incredible. Well defined bass and mids, lots of chime. Exactly what my ears have been wanting to hear. IMHO, Svetlanas are the best reissues out there.

Sweet Svetlana

Very warm with enough gain for some great distortion. Just real smooth, balanced, mellow, bassy, but not overly bassy or too muted highs.

Warm Svetlana 12AX7

by

I replaced the 4 12ax7's in my Crate TV120,
it always had a harsh loud sound to it.
The Svetlana's made it sound better then when it was new with a nice Warm
Open sound.
I can also get a nice crunch with it too.
I also tried them in my Traynor YGL1
(a 15 watt class A running 2 12AX7 and 2 EL84's)
The Svetlana's were as little bit to soft and I lost a bit of the Chime.
The Tube Store description was right on for the Svetlana's.
The Matched Sections Service makes a big difference too.
Great service from The Tube Store, got my tubes in 3 Days via Express Post.
Well Done!

Terrific in Fender 68 Custom Deluxe Reverb

by

This is the third set of 12AX7 in V1, V2 of my amp.
The stock GT branded JJs were decent when driven, but a bit dull when clean. Up next were Tung Sols, which were beautiful clean and just on the verge of breakup, but grainy and harsh when really driven.
The Svetlana hits the best of those 2, and then some. The description is bang on - clear and open, not too bright. They have a beautiful warmth when driven, and can be driven both smooth and with punch.

Great new production 12AX7

I never write reviews, but I am really impressed with this tube in a blackface Fender Bassman Head. It is quiet and sounds great. Hopefully it will last. Try it, you just might like it. Oh- I'm ordering more.
