From our review: "I find the Svetlana 12AX7 preamp tube to sound a bit smoother than the 12AX7EH and it has less gain than the Tungsol 12AX7 vacuum tube. If you are not inspired by the Electro Harmonix and also find the Tungsol too grainy then this is the 12AX7 tube you want to give a chance. It has everything you want in a good pre-amp. Low noise, no microphonics issues, and very clear and open without being too bright."

This new production tube is manufactured at the New Sensor Corp. owned Xpo-Pul factory (also known as Reflektor) in Saratov, Russia. Use it to replace all other 12AX7, ECC83, and 7025 tube types. Solid construction and build quality and all test great on our equipment.

Not to be confused with the older Winged "C" version, this one is of far better quality.

One other note about the construction of these tubes is they have filaments that are almost completely encased in the plate structure. They don't "light up" brightly when working properly.

Lot better than expected and very Lo noise .
They sound beautifully with rich harmonics.
More than satisfied.

I really like this tube. I was running the Tungsul but felt they were too harsh and kind of dull. I tried one of these tubes in V1 in front of the Tungsol in an '82 Fender Champ II. I was pleasantly surprised! Now I'm curious how it would sound with two of these. I'm still finding great sounds with the only the knobs so it may be a while. If you are looking to try something different try this tube.

What a surprise. Its got power, touch sensitive, bright when needed. Got in my Vox ac4tv with a nos tungsram el84. Chords beautifully. Lead notes are touch and go. Its like I'm using a sustain pedal, but not overly. Clean and powerful, not messy with the nos power tube. It crunches clean. Very different 12ax7. With reissue power tube I don't know. I will buy more of these. I thought I needed a new speaker. I got a new amp for 71 bucks. Nos power tube, Svetlana 12ax7. I'm hyped. Playing is easy again. Speaker maybe later

Surprise Excellence

I roll a lot of tubes in a number of boutique/higher-end amps (Diezel, Bogner, etc). Recently I'd experimented with getting clarity, articulation and punch without sacrificing sizzle in a couple of my notorious high-gainers. These worked wonders; and so much so that I ported a few over to the tone stacks of my otherwise GL-ECC83 loaded amps with equal satisfaction.

Warm, clear, and smooth but still giving great growl and focus - terrific tubes, awesome price, very quiet... Super glad I took the leap. Buying more this week!!

Lastly - Jon and crew are just above and beyond in the customer service and satisfaction department. Terrific guys who know their stuff and ship lightning quick!! My go-to place for literally "all" my tube needs. Thanks guys!!

A real gem

I've had my TH30 since they came out and have used Tung Sols almost the whole time, but there was always a harsh, unforgiving nature to the high end.
I put a couple of Svetlanas in it on a whim and was immediately gobsmacked. Gone is the harshness. Still tons of gain, but with a new warmth to it. The clean channel sounds incredible. Well defined bass and mids, lots of chime. Exactly what my ears have been wanting to hear. IMHO, Svetlanas are the best reissues out there.
