I would advise against using them in compact high-powered combo amps where they will be subjected to lots of vibration.
One other note about the construction of these tubes is they have filaments that are almost completely encased in the plate structure. They often don't "light up" when working properly. This is not a problem, it's normal for the LPS."

A very clean tube.

Not much to this tube. Other than crystal clear sound, that is. I don't play clean, but I guess this is a must-try for those that do.
Best for phase inverter
by Andre R.
This little tube has very good amplification factor and got plenty of power and it is best use in v5 phase inverter position in my Mesa dual rectifier
With one tung-sol in v1 and 3 x JJ (v2 to v4) .
Thanks to tubestore for great customer service and really quick shipping .
Great PI Tube and Great Service
Replaced a TAD in the phase inverter my Rivera, I was happy with my sound but I read an article by an amp builder and he commented that the Sovetek 12AX7-LPS was one of his favorites in the PI so I thought I would give it a try. The way it changed the amp was the way it drove the power tubes compared to the TAD, I can hear and feel the added power yet retained and perhaps enhanced the amps musical dynamics. I did have to lower the gain and the master volume so that I didn't upset the neighbors. Thanks to the tube store for getting the tube to me so quickly.
The Phase Invertor Tube of choice..
by Bashar -
This is THE tube to put in a Phase Inverter socket in a tube amp.. I have this in both of my Splawn Nitro and Egnater Armageddon.. both amps opened up a bit more, added a bit more clarity to the overall tone yet let the tone of them remain tight and punchy. Highly recommended.
The best current production 12AX7 that I've tried
by John B.
Not only that.....they are better in V4 of my Mac MC60's than my previous driver choice, the GE long plate 12AX7. I use The LPS's when I have to add heft to wimpy (but otherwise wonderful) tubes upstream, or when I use NOS Tung-Sol 6550's. The Sovtek LPS's give these vintage output tubes much more bottom and do not reduce the air that they are famous for. But, I should say that in other positions in my stereo system they are not as transparent as vintage tubes. For me, they really shine as drivers.
