Marshall JVM
by Jogues Caron
It's exactly the same sound and physically identical tube on my JVM410H. After blown 2 Mullard reissue, and Mesa test, I put 5 Shuguang 12AX7-A into my Marshall head and I'm vert impressed, the result is exactly the same as new for very low price.
This our "White Bread 12AX7", and it works well most of the time.

I have been buying these in bulk, and have no issues with them, for the price. I can't say what I pay for them, but even at $10 they are a good deal. Lots of customers simply want an amp working again, for resale, or they just don't really care what it sounds like, and these aren't all that bad. A little hissy, sometimes, and sometimes a bit gritty. On occasion these can be microphonic, but it is not very common. These tend to be gainy and can be a tad too gainy. We do carry other 12AX7s, of course.
Shuguangs for me only
by Alex
Back 8-9 years ago i had to get my Marshall JCM 900 4100 repaired to install new capacitors- regrettably my tech put good German caps in but he put JJ tubes all around and my powerful super chords vanished with the installation of JJ 12AX7’s. 5 years ago I found a triplet of Shuguang 12AX7 and my flame thrower was back. it’s Shuguangs for my Marshall from then on!!
My Go To Preamp 12AX7
by Johnny M
For me the magic combination for the tone I'm going with my Traynor YCS50H for consists of Shuguangs in the preamp, a Svetlana 12AX7 in the PI(splitter) and Svetlana EL34s in the power section. Crunchy high gain Marshally goodness. Very articulate and tight. Tonal nirvana!
Prone to microphonic's
by Steve
I do service repair work so I go through a fair amount of tubes. I bought these a few times I find they sound good a little bit of hiss at times but tons of gain. Biggest issue I had is them going microphonic and I had quite a few unless I got a couple bad batches. I would recommend a tungsol if your looking for gain and reliability but these are cheap and way worth it if you get lucky and they hang in there.
