Same company, much better tube!

by

The plates are similar to the Sovtek, but lack that pale gray old Soviet coating. Consistence and ability to match sections is markedly improved over the dreadfully horrible Sovtek. For a new 6EU7, this is as good as it gets. 6EU7s used to be true audio grade tubes, electrically almost identical to the 12AX7, only quieter, and slightly better designed with a pinout that just worked better than the old dual voltage 12AX7 type pinout. By eliminating two heater pins, it made the H-K potential better and safer. You also had less stuff to cause problems, with less tinsel connecting wire in the bottle. Sound is okay, but it's one of two 6EU7s being made so we are comparing a really horrible tube to one where it at least looks like someone cared enough to try. I am so happy New Sensor decided to produce this. I am leaving off half a star in hopes someone makes another 6EU7, even if it's another New Sensor product! Anything is welcome! These have a nice neutral natural warm sound much like the real 6EU7s of old. It's no English Mullard, but what is?
