JJ KT88 Power Vacuum Tube (Matched)
From our JJ KT88 vacuum tube listening test:
"The JJ KT88 power tube has the best imaging of all the tubes in this category. The bass is unique in that it compresses the very bottom end. This provides incredible bass response without ever losing control. Overall a great KT88 tube for orchestral, opera, and jazz music."

JJ KT88 | Great power tubes for any music
by John -
I bought a Quicksilver V120 pair of monoblocks about 20 years ago. 2 years ago I decided to get a new set of 8 JJ KT88 tubes. Not that the original quads sounded bad but I thought a new set was in order. To my ears all music sounds great thru them but especially women's voices and strings! They sound very smooth but when it's time to hear some Mahler or Bruckner brass, they excel at that as well. The reason I waited so long was that Mike at Quicksilver biases the tubes in my amps at 40 ma. They basically get very little electrical stress. Highly recommended!
JJ KT88 | Five out of five!

JJ KT88 are a lot better than the Tung Sol KT120 in my Rogue Audio S100. Sound is a lot more true to natural, extended dimensions in soundstage. Maybe matter that this is the only one not made in Russia or China.
JJ KT88 | Better than expected….

Test strong, so far JJ-KT88 are holding bias. After 6 hours, top end opening up somewhat, bass very good (better than Preferred KT88). Nice sounding tube, hope they last.
JJ KT88 | thetubestore.com is a good place to buy from.

Solid tube, nice sound even for a relatively cheap tube. One of the JJ-KT88 tubes failed after around 50 hours of use though. Everyone gets a bad tube, or a few. It's normal for tubes. I gave a description of what happened with the bad tube and thetubestore quickly replied and offered an exchange or refund, no hassle.
Compared to more expensive tubes, it's not as good, but still solid. And I personally believe it's well worth it to spend more for better tubes. We spend thousands on amps, and then a hundred bucks on two tubes for them.. Which tube being used makes a big difference.

I put a set of these JJ-KT88 in my Jolida 502P to replace Tungsol 6550 a few weeks ago and what a difference (more musical throughout without being muddy in the low end). I love the sound of these JJ's. I definitely will not hesitate to buy them again.
