The Preferred Series 7025 preamp tube is a high quality 12AX7 vacuum tube type. This tube is a reproduction of the highly regarded and sought after Mullards from the 1960s.

This 7025 is a high quality and very rugged custom 12AX7 tube produced for us in China by the Shuguang factory. The plates are manufactured out of a premium metal imported from Germany and supported with extra thick mica spacers to insure against microphonics. They are burned in and tested at the factory and then again on our digital high voltage equipment to make sure the tubes selected for you will provide outstanding tone and performance.

From our review: "A great sounding 12AX7 tube type that reminds me a little more of the ECC83 that Ei made in the old days. That's a pretty nice compliment. I compared this tube against an old Ei and Telefunken smooth plate and there was very little difference. Lots of gain with a rather low noise floor. No microphonics issues at all. Very good considering the large plate size. Spot welding may be better for microphonics than crimped plates. I tried it in all the standard guitar amp duties and it was fine. Fabulous in Blackface Fender amps. We tried this 7025 in a 66 Vibrolux reverb 2x10 combo and the tones were all there. Light and shimmering or really aggressive, it's all good."

Warranty: The Preferred Series 7025 tubes carry a 6 month extended warranty.

Preferred series 7025 "Mullard copy"--Made in China

I tried this tube in the V1 positions in both a Marshall 1959 SLP and a USA Fender Blues Deluxe and the results were impressive. There was an immediate and drastic difference between either a JJ ECC83s or an EH12AX7 in both amps, and this tube produces a "sponginess" that can be felt and is immediately discernible. Also, the sound could be described as "alive"-- the mids were warm and the highs were clear without any harshness or brittleness. Not sure how reliable these tubes are, but the tones are fantastic.

Well worth the price!

Been playing for 25 years, heard a lot of different tubes. Some better, some worse, some bright, some dark, but this was the first tube that really made me say wow. Used it in the v1 of a Marshall 1987 "plexi' and in the v1 of a Mesa Lonestar. The distortion tones are great. Just a hair to the bright side with no fizz, just creamy overdrive. Quieter than the name brand tube I was using in the Lonestar. Only 12ax7 I plan to buy for now on.

Surprisingly good tubes!

This tube came as a complete surprise to me. I bought a few sets of different 12AX7 tubes to try on my tube phono pre, and this was the cheapest set which I just added to my cart just for fun. The others were very well-regarded Genelax Gold Lions and Mullards.

After a lot of listening tests, this tube came out on top.... by a lot! It sounds very dynamic, with lots of bass and lot of sparkle. The music comes alive and makes you tap your feet.

Am very happy with my purchase.

Not impressed in an AC15

by

I bought a re-tube set for my Vox AC15 as an "upgrade" to the stock Sino 12AX7B tubes, and I really don't rate the tone of these at all, at least in that amp. They sounded woolly and took away the clarity, sparkle and sensitivity of the amp compared to stock

Simply totally a Joke

If anyone would like my pair I will send to you for free. These are just CHINESE JUNK like Everything made in china tubes or toothpaste... these do not belong in audio maybe guitar amps but not quality audio amps or preamps They simply sound utterly horrible in every way
