Genalex - Gold Lion ECC83/B759 (Premium) Preamp Vacuum Tube

Finally a new production tube that is as good as old production. I purchased 10 JJ's from various sources. 8 I had to throw away. I thought my Eico 666 tester had gone bad. I put in my calibration tubes, all good. I tested about 40 tubes I have, Ei, New Mullards, JJ, Chinese, Ruby (Like I said Chinese) sovtek 7025, Ge Nothing tested higher than 103 and the only one side. That was the russian 7025 but only 1 out of 3! Then I tested the Gold Lion ECC83 tube. The pair I have both tested at 123 on both sides, perfectly matched and at NOS Telefunken gain levels. My favorite tube is the Raytheon black-plates. I always keep them in V-1 and V-2 on my 1972 Fender Quad Reverb. I have actually retired them and installed these. So far my amp sounds great. The Raytheons have seen a decade of hard use and are testing lower so it was time but the tone is to die for, very hard for me to do. I will update how the tone compares after some break in Jamming (a few weeks). So far extremely pleased. It's about damn time. I will stop wasting my money and buy these from now on. (although I am curious about the Northern Electric 12AX7)

I've been using the Gold Lions for a few years now, and they are just deep, rich and beautiful... bass galore and rich mids. They are not the most sturdy of 12ax7s out there, I had one in my onboard guitar tube-preamp and it didn't last super long, but I'm hard on guitars :) The gain side of my amp sounds glorious with them.... well done Genalex.

I'm about to put these in a bass drum tube DI box... I'm excited...

I buy a 3 Genalex Gold Lion for my Chinese ys-audio preamplifier instead of the 4 old years factory Chinese. If at the beginning the preamp sound like heaven, now it sound like the nirvana.... My AL-III carver dipolar speakers sound better than ever, great tubes, and arrived to my city in Mexico in 20 days. I get the the best service from the tubestore guys.

For the last few months I got a problem with playing some audiophile LPs. Pops, clicks, distortions. Not on all of them, only 5 or 6, even within one LP one song could be OK, another was impossible to listen to. I have EAR/Yoshino 834P Delux phonostage. Talked to the manufacturer, changed interconnects, put an additional ground. Useless. I suggested the problem was aging tubes. After talking to Tubestore three times I decided to buy Gold Lion 12AX7. Got them in two days and after warming them up I put the LP that gave me such a headache the most. First impression is all problems disappeared, the sound is free of noise, very quiet background, clear, deep and wide stage.
No complains. Good tubes. May be later I add some more information after listening more LPs.

Got some Genalex Gold Lions ( ECC83/B759) for my McIntosh C2300. I don't know why McIntosh doesn't stock this wonderful amp with these tubes brand new!!
