A customer comment: "I ordered two Gold Lion ECC83/B759 vacuum tubes a few days ago and I put one of them in the first preamp stage of my Rivera combo. Fantastic! On clean or distortion, both are absolutely fantastic! It provides good definition, fast attack, extended high frequency response, and full harmonic content. They are the best ECC83 / 12AX7 preamp tube I've tried! And they are not overpriced rare NOS! - 10/10"

Original Genalex Gold Lion ECC83/B759/12AX7 tubes are considered among the best 12AX7 tube types ever made. They are hard to find and when they are available, they are expensive. They exhibit a large detailed soundstage that is sought after by discerning audiophiles who demand the highest quality sound. The reissue Genalex Gold Lion ECC83 / B759 / 12AX7 recreates the sound signature of the original. This tube features balanced sections and gold plated pins.

One other note about the construction of these tubes is they have filaments that are almost completely encased in the plate structure. They don't "light up" brightly when working properly.

Genalex - Gold Lion ECC83 / B759 | Worth price of admission

No one wants to pop for 40+ bucks for a single 12ax7, but want and need are two different things. It's a must need tube for me from now on. It does several things very well. Quiet operation from this tube. Beautiful gain that is defined and no mud can be heard.
I decided to give these GL-ECC83 (Premium) a go in my prs hxda 30 gtr amp. Its a plexi style circuit. Placed in V1 with a reissue Mullard cv4004 V2 and thetubestore 7025 V3 with matched balanced for phase inverter.
If your a gtr player that rides your volume knob for clean, rhythm and lead, the gold lion roars with clarity in all gtr volumes. Cleans up very well without mud in your neck pickup rolled off. Clear notes and defined bass middle bass.
My new favorite.

Genalex - Gold Lion ECC83 / B759 | Art Tube Pre Likes the Gold Lion

by

So I bought an ART PRO MPA II wanting to have a good stereo pair of TUBE mic preamps. I already have a pair of True P-solos to cover the transistor pre catagory. I bought the ART used from a reputable guy. He said that he had software that could reproduce the mic tube sound he wanted so was selling off his ART pre. After I got it I used it to record a few coffeehouse concerts. The tubes that were in the Pre sounded good but the noise floor for recording an acoustic concert was too high. I had to boost my compressor and digital recording device levels way up to compensate. So the JJ ECC83S tubes were removed. The Gold Lion ECC83/B759's were installed. (20 hour burn in) First test with just a vocal mic showed no noise with the pre fully cranked! Just what I was looking for. I could hear a little tube warmth but treble and bass were not reduced or boosted. Now I can use this pre with a ribbon mic or very quiet source material. Goal accomplished! Yeah!

Genalex - Gold Lion ECC83 / B759 | Bad luck or poor quality?

I bought three of these GL-ECC83 (Premium) matched for my EAR 834P in August 2017. Two failed within 18 months, with less than 200 hours use. Now I'm back to the original tubes (measured at 75, 85 & 90% good) and I wonder why I even bothered to roll with the Lions. I might try rolling in some JJ 5751's next as a comparison.

Genalex - Gold Lion ECC83 / B759 | Well worth the investment!

Just installed the Genalex Gold Lion GL-ECC83 Premium tubes in my amp and it came ALIVE!!
I'm using a RAT modified (all hand wired point to point) Tweed Fender Blues Jr w/a Celestion Heritage Series G12M speaker. Now this amp already sounded great, but now, WOW! I'm playing a Les Paul w/Alnico V Humbucker pickups, and a Blackstone Appliances (AKA Billy Gibbons-ZZ Top) Mosfet Overdrive pedal. I would say to anyone using a handwired amp, these preamp tubes will make it rock, and clean up any muddy, fizzy overdrive sound.

Awesome

The Yaqin MC13S amplifier is a clean enough Class A amp. The stock tubes are pretty Average. Dropped a balanced pair of these into the push-pull stage (with a pair of ECC82's). Never mind burning in - the whole amp just opened up. Keepers.
