Note: These tubes have a slightly larger diameter than other EL84 tubes so they can not be installed into some '90's era Marshall DSL201 or DSL401 amplifiers, some '90's era reissue Vox AC15 amps, and Bad Cat amps.

Long lasting tubes
Years ago I replaced a set of JJ that went bad on me with a quad of these in my Classic 30. While the sound of the JJs was a bit sweeter and more harmonically complex, they lasted months while the EH EL84s lasted YEARS. I just replaced them with Tung Sol because one went bad. The Tung Sol are little brighter and have more juice, but they're also new so some of that's to be expected. Anyway, these suckers took the heat and vibrations of my Peavey C30 for a LOOOONG time. If they're still made that well today, the price for a matched quad is a bargain. If the Tung Sols can't take the torture in my amp, I'll get another set of the EHs.
Very good tubes
I installed these in my Tubemeister 18 Head & Voilà...these tubes are very well balance...Better than these tungsol tubes....
The JJ EL84 sounded loud and shrill. JJ 844 was too compressed. Sovtek full but a tad shrill. The EH very musical, tamed the highs and was my favorite of the four.
Crate VC50 Head
Nice sounding tube. It got everything I want for this type of tube. Going to get a set for my dad's old Vox AC30 (65 mod) soon.
