That's 10W more than the already impressive Tung-Sol KT120 power tube. The KT150 power tube delivers a strong bass signature that adds weight and impact to your audio. The Tung-Sol KT150 glass envelope is a special egg shaped balloon that was developed to improve thermal dissipation and maintain a superior vacuum for the best sound. The fact that the glass envelope has no flat sides means the Tung-Sol KT150 has no problems with microphonics.

Note: Check with your amp's manufacturer to confirm the KT150 tube will work in your amp. It has higher heater current draw (~20%) than typical KT88 tubes.

If you receive a tube that does not perform to the manufacturer's specifications, please do the following:
- contact us to get a return authorization
- return it via regular mail within 90 days from when we shipped it, and we will provide an exchange or refund of the full purchase price of the tube.
Returns not related to warranty or defect will be considered at our discretion, and are subject to a 15% restocking fee.
We can not accept returns that don't have an authorization, are past 3 month, or are returned improperly.

Tung-Sol KT150 | Amazing power in every way

As a lover of EL34’s in my Primaluna EVO400 power amps (and all the Primaluna’s I previously owned), a buddy audiophile invited me for a listening session.
Boy I was floored with the bass slam, excellent mids and crystal clear highs. This thing is a true (and very pleasing) monster tube in both size and soundstage.
I bought 8 of these… The EL34’s (which are keepers) are still slightly more liquid with mellow mids. So time for some tube rollin’… ! TS-KT150
These tubes appear to be genuinely special.....

I have a Black Ice (Jolida) 3502s. I replaced 4 Winged ‘C’/SED EL34’s with the KT150’s. Wow! All new, no break in, they are fantastic. Not just bass. Bass was fine with the Flying C’s so now maybe a tad tighter but no drastic change. The thing that hit me was soundstage and separation! It’s like the music now gushes out of the speakers. This rig is in a near-field setup with the speakers and sweet spot in a 3 foot triangle. Very tight. To have the soundstage open up so much was very impressive. 3D like. Can’t wait for them to log a few hours and really stretch! Pricy tubes and I admit the hype got me but, at first blush, it’s looking like it’s not hype but the real deal.

Being a favorite of mine, I have extensive experience using this tube in properly modded amps (HK Citatiion II and others), but operating this tube at a plate/watt dissipation of 70% is unreasonable and not suggested..
Doing so will surely invite failure..
A more realistic 53-56% is preferable and even less for the faint of heart..
In addition, there are new amp builders who are running these at at an ice cold 30%. To those audiophiles who do/consider doing this, I suggest that you will save $ and be better served with KT88's..
Just my not so humble opinion..!!
Powerhouse

I have a pair of these tubes running SE UL in an amplifier designed for the KT150. At first I thought they sounded somewhat sterile, but after they had ~100hrs on them they really opened up and started sounding great. Bass is DEEP and very well controlled. Midrange is clear and forward, top end goes on forever and is rather delicate sounding (in a good way). Took a chance building an amplifier around this tube but it paid off. I'm very satisfied.
Nice tube in a SE amp

I plugged this tube into a single ended amp that I had built for KT88's and adjusted the current and voltage to get in the right ball park. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the bass and the highs, both of which, I had thought were pretty good before. Now there's way more solid feel to kick drums and stand up bass and cymbals really get the whole shimmering thing going. I'm running them into a pair of Altec model 19's or 604-8G's.
All in all, they're keepers.
