Additional Information and Downloads

What does "NOS" mean, anyway?:

Commonly known as "NOS," the term New Old Stock simply refers to tubes that were made years ago but have never been used. Much like antiques, "NOS" tubes are currently not being manufactured and this means their supply is dwindling while the price continues to rise.

For most NOS tubes we have a variety of brands available. Typically these are the common brands such as RCA, Sylvania, GE, Raytheon, etc. However, there are instances where lesser known brands are in stock. If you have a particular brand you prefer you can simply request it in the Order Comment box when you place your order.

Best bang

by

The electronic Harmonix tube which sounded decent for sure: smooth, clear and dynamic. Then I tried the JJ gold pin tubes and I was in love with it. Warm and compressed with good gain like the Electro Harmonix but that hazy warmth kind of killed a smidge of that clarity and crisp that the Electro Harmonix had. Although there's something about it that I did gravitate to.it had a thick forward compressed old school mid range that made the mic sound like 80's gear.only way I could explain it. I wasn't gonna take it out. But I did,and tried these Toshibas that cost the same as my JJ gold pins (although to be fare, they didn't get a proper burn in). Good God. These sound quiet, clear, warm, smooth but most of all 3 dimensional. Plus they have a big soundstage. My best bang for buck tube for pcc88 style mics or mic preamp.....all 3 give me totally different textures, compressions, and soundstages.
