Mullard 12AT7 Reissue | Mullard 12AT7 in a Auris Euterpe

by

I have been rolling tubes in my Auris Euterpe DAC to power a Yaqin MC-100b
with GL in V1 Tungsol, 2SN7GTB at V2 and Kt150 to GoldenEar Triton 2+. The Mullard MU-12AT7-RI is winning by a long shot. The GL is bright but good. I have tried several 6201s and a may not have given them enough time but just was not in the same league. The Mullard has very smooth highs, voices are real clear and bass is smooth, not boomy.

These tubes surprised me after reseting the bias current on our top of line product. It turned out to be the best 12at7 we have tested. As a note we only make high fidelity products.

clean and clear but microphonic

by

I put these in the preamp of a Deluxe Reverb RI. They were extremely microphonic. I could hear "tink" clank while just plugging in my guitar cord. The spring loaded tube covers helped quiet the tubes a little. But still microphonic. I put one in my Super Champ and behold very little to no microphonics. I like the non-coloring tone of these tubes clean and clear, but depends on whether they will like your amp.
