Elekit (EK Japan Co. LTD) has been producing electronics kits
since the early 1970's. While their main focus has always
been educational kits, more recently they started to offer
hifi audio amplifier kits. Included are some fantastic
DIY vacuum tube amps and headphone amplifiers.
The Elekit Cubic (TU-H82) hybrid tube amplifier has a small footprint, but can deliver a surprising amount of power. The preamp uses a 12AU7/ECC82 tube that provides smooth sound and warmth. The output is a class-D amplifier for efficient power.
The USB input and DAC plus ~8W per channel and headphone output makes it an excellent amp for a desktop audio system.

If you know which end of an allen key to use you can build this kit. I surprised at the excellent quality of the case. It's a hefty little amp. Sounds great and the DAC works very well.

Takes up very little desk space and powers my little speaker’s just fine. Sounds good with input from my iPhone but when using my laptops USB out to the DAC in this unit it really comes to life. Awesome!
